This mattress elevator has been very helpful for my wife that suffers with acid reflux. The first night using it she did not have any symptoms. Great company to deal with. They do reply to questions quickly. My suggestion is to go ahead and purchase the cover for it at the same time. You will be glad you get it as it will be easier to install under your mattress. Remember you will have to lift your mattress to install so it will be helpful to have someone lifting it while installing. Excellent company!!I finally found this after years of watching my husband fight with assorted pillows trying to lift himself to avoid reflux. We talked about a lift bed. We have a memory foam mattress, so the lift would have worked. Still, I know from experience in hospitals that you have to wake up and adjust the bed every time you turn from your back to your side. He is a roller.We worried that we would slide down during the night, and since he is 6'3" it would cause his feet to hang out. That really does not happen. We may shift down a couple of inches, but still are no where near the foot of the bed in the morning. It does significantly raise the head of the bed, and is visually noticeable, but the relief that he gets makes that unimportant.This foam lift ends his nightly struggle. With the entire mattress angled, he can roll from his back to his side without waking up. He is having less issue with his GERD, no more fighting with pillows, and is sleeping much better. He is not nearly so cranky.I really wish that we had found this solution years ago.This mattress pad took a while to get used to. I move around a lot at night and would keep sliding down. But I got use to it. The amazing thing is that after a month I noticed that I no longer had heartburn. The only thing that I changed in my diet was to start cold brewing my coffee and limiting myself to once cup a day. The mattress totally took care of the heartburn. Now I am thinking of trying to get off the prescription heartburn medicine! I would totally recommend this pad. Hard to believe that it would help, but it did.Works as described. I managed to set it up alone, but you might want a partner it's not an easy process by yourself. Overall it works as described.I used for acid reflux and was much more comfortable than the way we had propped the mattress up before. I always felt like I was sliding down before but with this wedge I don’t have that problem. I ordered King Size which is to separate wedges. My husband didn’t want his side raised so I only put it on my side. We then cut our existing foam mattress (which was 3 separate pieces of foam) in half on one piece and took it out to make the bed even. That gave me the other piece for my rv. Worked out great.The Avana mattress elevator was a nice change from sleeping on a wedge . Elevating the whole bed has allowed for more restful sleep and decrease episodes with acid reflux. Great packaging and a good product. Looked at more expensive , but found this one on Amazon. Glad I purchased this product . Very happy. Thank you AvanaI definitely prefer the mattress being elevated as opposed to the head of the bedframe. My husband was not certain he would be able to sleep with the degree of elevation, but he did not have any issues. It alleviates symptoms of GERD while providing a comfortable night's sleep.Very helpful for inclining your mattress for fighting problems with GERD. We have a King mattress so it comes in two pieces. Once in place, it produces a nice incline. A lot more cost effective than a mechanical bed that could cost thousands.
